Imma smack this dude into tomorrow.

Blogging failure.

Well come on, I gave it a shot and actually updated on the regular for a solid 6 months.
Unfortunately I just made up for it with 6 months so quiet that it would make a Trappist monk look like chatty Cathy. If I can remember correctly, in this time I moved, was hospitalized, bought a bike, went to Italy, took up antiquing, got a promotion, drank a bunch of wine, moved again, started to write a book, wrote the forward to a book, wrote the first chapter of a book, antiqued some more, reread Plato's Republic, cliff dove, and finger painted on the walls in my grown up loft.

Photos to follow. Stay tuned.

I need to go to this show tonight.

Finally moving to Leslieville.

I'm headed downtown to sign the lease on a cute little house in Leslieville. I have wanted to live in this neighborhood ever since I moved to Toronto. I predict an amazing summer ahead.

Grab your fixed gears kids, we're going to Ceili Cottage.

The Selby

Please check this website out.
It made my heart skip a beat.
Absolute perfection.

float like a butterfly. sting like a bee.

my favorite piece of art

This is a photo of my favorite posession.
My father bought one of the few original prints of this for me about five years ago in an auction.
It's been in storage since I moved back from Ireland and I can't wait to have my own space again to hang it. I came across this photo online and it got me all gushy.

Hospituss

So I just got discharged from Headwater Hospital in Orangeville after almost a week of being here. Is it almost twisted that my emotions are mixed about now having to up and leave and get back into the real world.

I was admitted to the hospital on Saturday night at about 2am for severe abdominal pain and a soaring fever. The ambulance scraped me out of my kitchen into the snowy night. Little did I know I wouldn't be back on Sunday for my regular Globe and Mail crossword and pot of coffee. Now Thursday, there was never really a conclusion to what the hell was the matter with me in the first place but thanks to a whack load of drugs and tests... I feel OK enough to go home.

Let's hope it lasts!

Hello fresh air.

FEBRUARY

Konokova, Russia

Chick Date Version 1.1

Dear Summer

dark horse. still the best coffee in town.

From my nine to five daze downtown 'til now, Dark Horse still kills it in the Toronto coffee category. Go for the americano and goats cheese and herb scone. Better than sex.

Alexander McQueen

Today the fashion world lost an icon. Alexander McQueen set the gold standard for all things beautiful and wild. I'm so saddened by the world's loss of such an epic artist and pioneer. It's definetely the end of an era.

God Save McQueen.
